Welcome to the Scotland
Golf Marathon 2005 website. Starting on Jan 3rd at Powfoot,
Dumfrieshire, Bernard Wood is commencing an attempt at playing
377, 18-hole golf courses in Scotland within a year. He
is doing this in an attempt to raise £100,000 for
the Kirsty
Appeal which aims to secure the future of the Francis
House Children's Hospice. Francis House, who under the umbrella
of Rainbow Family Trust, are a charitable organisation that
offers the families of terminally ill children a respite
from their role as carers and gives the children a loving
home from home. On this site you can find information about
the event, the charity and
how to make a donation to the
charity. You can view Bernards itinerary
for his golf. Given the nature of the event and weather
conditions, this will remain a slightly flexible plan. Once
the event is underway, please check back regularly to keep
a track of Bernards progress and the amount of money raised.
Finally, this event wouldn’t have been possible without
the magnificent support from many people and organisations.
We have dedicated a Thanks section
of the site to gratefully acknowledge these people and organisations.
